Abstract: 

Nowadays, demand response is recognized as an important element in the reliability of smart grid. Smart home energy management systems, which prioritize the start-up of electrical appliances according to the necessity of use and efficiency, play a vital role in the effectiveness of load response strategies in residential areas. Considering the sensor technologies, clarification on electricity consumption details helps to optimally monitor how the appliances are used. In this research, an unsupervised machine learning model was proposed for the clustering of home appliances to manage the bills of customers based on their inherent characteristics. Due to the small number of clusters, it becomes possible to manage electricity consumption. The hierarchical clustering method was used to classify appliances into three clusters. The first cluster is the appliances that are turned on at the discretion of the consumers immediately, the second cluster is the appliances that can be turned on according to the schedule and their usage can be postponed and the third cluster is appliances that are preferred by a limited number of consumers. The silhouette coefficient was developed as a measure of the hierarchical clustering model performance, where the average silhouette coefficient of 0.56 indicates the satisfaction of the model. Based on the results, it was found that the proposed clustering method can rationally classify different types of home appliances by selecting the appropriate characteristics since the appliances in a cluster are very similar to each other and can help users understand the operating conditions of the appliances.

Abstract: 

This paper establishes a centralized model to activate residential demand response in order to improve distribution network reliability. The model aims at minimizing the damage cost imposed by load curtailments following occurrence of unexpected events. In this model, distribution system operator (DSO) and responsive customers have already signed a contract authorizing the DSO alters the operation of responsive appliances whenever system reliability is jeopardized. The model addresses consumers’ preferences and guarantees that the operation of appliances is displaced within the bounds defined by the owners. Once an unexpected event occurs, the DSO commits responsive appliances to avoid likely violations in the network operational limits and costly load curtailments. The proposed model is mathematically formulated in the form of mixed integer linear programming (MILP) and its capability is depicted via applying to a real-world distribution network with some residential consumers. The comparison of service reliability indices after and before utilizing demand response potentials illustrates the effectiveness of the model.

Abstract: 

Aim: The propose of this study was to calculate the amount of force that the spring deliver after variable degree of activation. Material & Method: A specific designed program in Pascal language was employed to calculate the forcedelivered by each spring considering relevant variables such as cross section wave length and spring design.Results: The amount of force per each degree activation of 3 different springs currently used in removable orthodontic appliances was calculated. Stainless steel, Z spring with round cross section, 0.5 mm diameter and 1.5 turn helix delivered 45,52,59 gr force when activated at 14, 15, 16 degrees respectively.Conclusion: Useful ranges of force delivery can be achieved with 0.4 mm cross section for finger spring and 0.5 and 0.6 mm for Z-spring.

Abstract: 

In the competitive market where customers have the power to set the rules of the game, in order to survive and be successful companies need to pay careful attention to their marketing activities. One important concept, is brand positioning. In the recent years, increasing the amount of importing variety kinds of products in Home appliances Industry and protecting policies of domestic products by Iranian government are lead to make a new competitive phase in this industry. In this study, in order to identify the competitive position and status of the companies' brands which are active in Home appliances industry, Emersun Company (Domestic producer, Iranian Brand) and LG Company (Korean Brand) were selected to be assessed through the perspectives of their costumers, who serve as their most valuable asset. According to the results obtained from the tests and the perceptual maps, LG company was found to assume a better position in comparison to Emersun company in three of the four marketing mix (Product, Promotion, Place).

Abstract: 

Due to the variety of their structural makeup, hydrogels polymer networks that are saturated with water are used in a wide range of industries, including medicine, pharmaceuticals, cell or biomolecule separation, and biosensors. Hydrogels have received a lot of attention recently because of their flexible and stable structure in transition phenomena. In comparison to traditional hydrogels, the polymer network of nanocomposite hydrogels has better elastic and rheological properties. Hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs can both be present in hydrogels at the same time, which is why they are used to release both types of medications. Hydrogels are used in many medical applications, including tissue engineering, contact lenses, wound dressings, and the release of therapeutic agents, because they have a structure similar to the extracellular matrix and the capacity to absorb water. Drugs with a short half-life have an extended shelf life and duration of action due to the controlled release of the drug, which helps to maintain the best therapeutic concentration of the drug in the blood. For drugs with a prolonged release, controlled drug release makes the drug release rate dependable. This article discusses the properties of hydrogel nanocomposites and how they can be used to create targeted drug delivery systems.

Abstract: 

Thiamine responsive megaloblastic anemia in DIDMOA (Wolfram) syndrome has an autosomal- recessive mode of inheritance . Megaloblastic anemia and sideroblastic anemia is accompanied by diabetes insipidus (DI), diabetes mellitus (DM) ,optic atrophy (OA) and deafness (D). Neutropenia and thrombocytopenia are also present.We report a 7 month old girl with congenital macrocytic anemia; a rare clinical feature of Wolfram,s syndrome with increased plasma levels of blood glucose, both of which dramatically responded to administration of thiamine in large dosesThe patient also had neurosensorial deafness, but no improvement was observed in the deafness. We presented the case because thiamine-responsive megaloblastic anemia is a rare clinical presentation of Wolfram syndrome and after institution of treatment with thiamine, the anemia and hyperglycemia returned to normal.
